Our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment for the arts where kids can create without fear of criticism or competition. As a small camp, we believe that group process reinforces the individual strengths in every child, while at the same time empowering them to create something larger than themselves. Process-based exploration allows our campers to tap into the unknown and explore hidden realms of the imagination. We believe that techniques can reinforce the larger concepts of art, but we are not limited by traditional notions of genre and discipline.
Odyssey Summer Arts has a staff of two very experienced, passionate teaching artists working with a small group of 8 campers in a Park Slope home environment. We believe that this small group environment will help us carry out our mission to address the individual creative needs of each child.
